The original Type 64 hybrid tank project involved the construction of tanks made from parts of dismantled American tanks provided by the United States. The Type 64 is essentially a M42 Duster hull with an M18 Hellcat turret on top with a 76mm gun. The M18s were originally decommissioned tanks supplied to the ROC Armed Forces during the Chinese Civil War and later, whilst the hulls were surplus M42 hulls ordered and shipped to the island of Taiwan.

You know Angry you may be right it does if it's the Type 64 then surely it should have an open topped turret like the Hellcat, considering it was supposed to have the Hellcat turret on it I will check on this. nftw

You were right Angry that was the Bulldog this is the Type 64 I can't see how they mixed it up although from the side it looks similar, the solid turret tends to give it away it was mislabeled .

haha yeah i can see how the hulls look similar, its mostly the turrets that make them different tanks.
Wasn't the type 64 an attempt to re-create the hellcat?

Not sure to be honest what they were trying to do they both seem so similar, maybe they are different manufactures that may explain it ?.

yeah, i always thought that the type 64 was a Chinese rip off of the hellcat, but IDK if wargaming just put the type 64 in the Chinese line just because they needed a tier 6 prem tank

Don't know about that either but I know after the war and during the war, Russia bought tanks off the Allies to replenish their arsenal .
Hence the Churchill and other tanks with the hammer an sickle on them, and I would expect the Americans also sold them stuff.
Which as a Communist country they would have sold or shared with China and most of the Warsaw pact countries .
