Don't know if you know this, but I am a Physics Professor at a large midwestern university. I even have some teaching stuff published in textbooks.

Wow, that's really great to know. And, it's my pleasure to say that I really love physics and mathematics even though I'm double majored in Biology and Business Administration with minors in computer information systems and computer science. I still remember the long good old days in the lab when I took university physics during my undergrad. That's stuff you can never forget, haha

I also teach for a living too but I'm still working on my MBA and looking forward towards my PhD. Thanks for sharing and it is really good to know that about you friz, I can see that we do share a lot in common. And I can tell you now that I might definitely need your help with physics sometimes in the future since it is not common to always find good physics lovers around, haha #NiNFTW Very Happy

My two favorite things are physics and computer games, so it is easy to get me talking about either of those. Very Happy

Haha, me too and did you notice that Wargaming really messed up WOT from a "physics" standpoint? haha Razz

That's okay. The primary goal of a game is to be fun, so physics should come second.

I've been on the forums for star citizen trying to explain torque and angular acceleration to the ship designers since the game is using extended objects instead of point objects. This makes thruster position critical for maneuvering.

Haha, I know right, I have not played that game yet but I definitely know what you are talking about.

Game developers and designers need to pay enough attention to details. Imagine game developers with physics background working on games instead of game developers with just 3D design experience but nothing more, won't that make the game more fun? Especially when it comes to not having your tank gun not go all the way through inside an enemy tank's turret like what happens to me all the time on WOT haha

I am still amazed at what can be done in a game due to processor speed. The billions and billions of calculations that have to be made each second.

Having physics in a game makes the objects move in a way that seems "real". But I don't think you should ever let that get in the way of fun.

Haha, I agree and I think that the more technology evolve then the more cheaper it will become. Look at the microprocessor back then and now when it came to price. Huge changes happened and that's always good especially for us physics and game fanatics "aka NiN Gamers" Very Happy
